Very fast puncture repair action

A secret blend of liquid synthetic polymers gives Caffélatex its “latex-like” behavior, becoming solid when exposed to rapid evaporation, repairing holes in the process. We have improved this behavior with LThe addition of a precise percentage of microscopic silica particles (less than 2 microns, 0.002 mm), so that Caffélatex moves slowly through the holes, thus having more time to repair the puncture.

LThe high speed of puncture repair is particularly useful with lightweight tires or thin casings, making Caffélatex ideal for performance-oriented cyclists, for on-road and off-road cycling, with tubeless, tubular and inner tubes. Caffélatex repairs holes up to 5 mm (off-road tubeless tyres) and 3 mm (road tubeless tyres).

Foaming behavior activated by wheel movement

During LWhen engineering Caffélatex and its formula, we discovered that a foaming behavior (changing from liquid to foam when shaken, activated by the movement of the wheel) was a big advantage in terms of distribution capacity within the tire cavity.

As the wheels spin, centrifugal force pulls traditional liquid sealants against the outermost circumference inside the tire. Caffélatex, turning into foam, tends to fill Lentire internal cavity of the tyre, making it available and effective even in the event of a puncture on the sidewall. Caffélatex returns to its liquid state after approximately 15 minutes of rest.

Duration

Compared to other “latex-like” sealants, Caffélatex is very stable and durable, although its durability is strongly influenced by the type of tire.

Using the recommended amount per tire size/type, the expected life of Caffélatex is:

• Tubular (Caffélatex inserted into the latex or butyl bladder, not TPU): up to 1 year
• UST Tubeless Tire: 2-6 months
• Tubeless ready tire: 1-4 months
• Tubular type tire: 1-3 months

In the impossibility of knowing the specific conditions (type of wheel / tyre, thickness and porosity of the tyre, external temperature and humidity, storage conditions of the bicycle ...), we recommend checking Caffélatex every 2 months, to ensure that it is liquid and therefore guarantees its preventive action against punctures.

When the liquid is dry, wheels sealed with Caffélatex are still airtight, but Caffélatex will not actively repair punctures.

Non-toxic, corrosive, allergenic

Caffélatex does not contain ammonia or other harsh chemicals: this feature also makes it the preferred sealant for cyclocross/tubular applications, as it does not create any damage to the sensitive latex inner tubes.

ATTENTION: LOxidation of aluminum rims can occur due to the water content of the sealant, and occurs when the metal surface is not painted/anodized or covered by rim-strip or tubeless tape.

Since its formula is synthetic, Caffélatex does not trigger allergic reactions in people allergic to products based on natural rubber latex.

Recommendations and temperatures for use and storage

Usage temperatures: -20 / + 50 ° C
Storage temperatures: -15 / + 30°C

Caffélatex has a shelf life of 2 years from the first opening of the bottle, provided that the bottle is closed correctly and stored away from direct sunlight, and the storage temperature falls within the range indicated above.

To check if the liquid contained in a bottle of Caffélatex is still functional, even after a long time after first opening:

• the liquid should have a homogeneous viscosity (no solid pieces or noticeable separation between lighter and denser liquid);
• 10 second test: thumb and forefinger wet in liquid Caffélatex, press it between the two fingers for ten seconds then release: if it starts to create a solid layer, it is still working properly.
